The International Organization of Marianist Lay Communities, representing approximately 5500 members worldwide, was founded in 1993 in order to:

facilitate interchange among Marianist Lay Communities around the world
maintain communication with other branches of the Marianist Family (SM, FMI, Alliance Mariale) at the international level
promote common reflection on living the spirit of the Marianist charism, on our role in the Church, and on global social justice issues.

The governing body is an elected Leadership Team consisting of a President and four Regional Representatives from (1) Latin America; (2) Europe; (3) North America (Canada, USA) & Asia (India, Korea, Japan), Australia, and Ireland; and (4) Africa.
