Marie-Therese
Charlotte de Lamourous
1754 - 1836
Mademoiselle de Lamourous played a critical role in vitalizing the Marianist Movement in the region of Bordeaux, France that led to the foundation of communities of lay persons, and religious orders of men and women. She is honored as the primier lay person who worked with Fr. William Joseph Chaminade, Society of Mary, and Sr. Adele de Batz de Trenquelleon, Daughters of Mary Immaculate, in this effort.
Below are pictures of her home in Pian-Medoc and of a picture that still hangs in her bedroom. The painting depicts the hand of God saving the innocent from danger. Also, below are links to a short description of her life and to the eulogy at the time of her death on September 14, 1836.
